Promo Codes and How to Use Them

Occasionally when you receive a special offer from us, you may also receive a promotional code to use.

Using the code:

  • Shop and check out as you normally do.
  • At checkout, enter your promotional code in the space provided.
  • Click "Apply" and you’ll see a message confirming that the promotional code has been applied to your order.
  • If there are any issues with the promotional code you've entered, an error message will let you know it wasn’t applied.

In some cases you can enter more than one promotional code for an order.

  • Enter the first promotional code, and click "Apply".
  • Next enter the second promotional code and click "Apply".
  • Complete your checkout process.
  • Not all promotions may be combined. If you enter promotional codes that cannot be combined, we will apply the one that has the biggest benefit to you, and you can apply the unused promotional code to a different order.

When You are Charged

Generally, credit and debit cards are not “charged” until we ship the item(s) to you. However, when you pay for your order using a debit card that is associated with a checking account, a pre-authorization hold for the order amount is registered with the bank account or credit card you used. This can reduce your available credit limit or your available account balance at your financial institution.

Gap Inc. credit cards issued in the U.S.

Gap Inc. Mastercards may be used to pay for purchases in Gap Inc. stores and online in Canada; however, those purchases will earn 1 point per dollar spent on the Mastercard Platinum Card or 2 points per dollar spent on the World Mastercard.

PayPal and Apple Pay are online payment options.

Either can be used to buy merchandise as well as Gift Cards.

They can be used to pay for Curbside and In-Store Pickup orders. For additional information regarding curbside and in-store pickup, see the related FAQ.

PayPal cannot be used:

  • In combination with other online purchase payment options.
  • In store.
  • As payment for orders placed over the telephone.
  • For orders that include both ship-to-home and In-Store or Curbside Pickup items or that require pickup at multiple locations.
  • For orders with Backordered items.

Apple Pay cannot be used:

  • In combination with other online purchase payment options.
  • As payment for orders placed over the telephone.
  • For orders that include both ship-to-home and In-Store or Curbside Pickup items or that require pickup at multiple locations.

To Pay with Rewards

As a Member of the Gap Inc. Rewards Program, you earn points that can be redeemed for rewards in $1 increments. Rewards can be redeemed at our family of brands for the purchase of merchandise. Rewards cannot be used for the purchase of gift cards, for applicable taxes, regional/municipal fees and levies, packaging fees, shipping & handling or delivery charges, charitable donations, and gift-wrapping charges.

To Redeem Online

  • Log in to your account at checkout
  • The "My Rewards" section will display your available points balance, as well as any valid rewards certificates
  • Select the amount of points you want to redeem from the drop down
  • Select "redeem" button to apply your rewards to your total

To Redeem In Store

  • Enter your phone number on payment terminal
  • Alternatively, associates can look up an email address
  • The associate will see the customer's available rewards points balance, as well as any valid rewards certificates
  • The customer can choose how many rewards they wish to redeem

What happens next?

A message will confirm that the code has been applied to your order.
