The "redwood burl" color is more like what it sounds like than the pictures on the website. The pictures make it look like more of a saffron color, but it is definitely rosy brown. This dress is made out of a very lightweight, flowy rayon/ cotton blend that feels very nice. It is thin and airy and the shape of the dress is flattering. I am 5'10 and about 150 lb and got a medium tall which was perfect and comes to a couple inches above my knee. The embroidered details around the neck are very pretty and elevate this to look a little fancier than I would expect for Old Navy. This dress does have pockets, but because the fabric is so light and drapey it feels awkward to put something heavy like a cell phone in them.

It's very hot where I live now and this dress is so cool to wear and the smocking on top is cute. Perfect to throw in and run errands. Plan to go back to old Navy and see if they have it in other colors. Perfect throw in and go daytime dress.
