I love the powerchill fabric, it's a soft cotton knit and smooth feel is very comfy. The matte finish vs the shiny finish of most workout leggings makes me more comfortable wearing these for a quick trip to the store if needed. These aren't as tight as most leggings/yoga pants. I recently bought new leggings because I lost weight and the large size is perfect—form fitting at the top without being too tight. I wasn't sure about the wide leg style, I've tried on jeans and linen wide leg pants and they look ridiculous on me but these are nice. The wide leg style is great if you like a more pants-like style and feel vs form fitting leggings. I don't think these will work for yoga or working out. The wide leg will definitely fall during legs up poses and be a hazard, likely to get caught in the gym equipment. They are more appropriate around the house or runnings errands. I also wasn't sure about the very wide fold down waistband but it's actually very comfortable and looks nice. It also feels like just a little extra support for your back and stomach. There isn't much difference between the petite vs the regular size. I bought one of each. The petite might be a smidge tighter in the waist and hips but I really can't tell. The length is just a bit shorter. I'm 5'4" ~170lbs and have an hourglass figure. The petite hits me at the top of the foot without touching the floor. The regular just brushes the floor. Not enough difference to bother returning or exchanging them. My only complaint is the seam that runs down the midline and therefore the crotch. It was the first thing my husband noticed, otherwise he likes the fit and feel, If you prefer longer tees, it'll be hidden. And it's not as noticeable in the darker colors. I do wish the had more colors to choose from. These are my go to type of pants for wearing around the house and I'd like to coordinate with more of my tees.
