Great sweater for your preteen, it is cropped but not very short. Fits a bit bid, so you could size down.
I love the material and the design. Too bad it fits loose on my 5 year old

oldnavy.gap.comI got both, the pink cat and the purple swans for my 8 year old. The purple one is size 5 but somehow fits loose, and shrunk in the wash to be kind of short but still very wide. The pink cat we just got in size 8, it looks great, but I modified it a bit by sewing the back with 2 pleats because the neck was very loose, falling off the shoulders. It is great now, easy fix. I plan to wash cold and hang dry this time. Happy camper.
