I'm usually an 8-10 in Old Navy these days and the 6 fit comfortably with room to spares I tried on the 4 but they were just a little too snug. Even sizing down 2 they still have that relaxed, slightly slouchy look. I did find the length varied a lot depending on the wash. The sort of light-mid wash... with no distressing was the shortest by far. The darker washes were longer. I'm 5'4 but with long legs and they all were long enough but just barely for the mid-light rise and that was with flats. They do make a long length though which I tried on in the lightest wash and they were very long- would likely work on someone up to 6' tall.
I realize it's hard to find jeans that fit comfortably and achieve the fit you want, but it gets a lot harder when you're relying on inaccurate measurement advice from the website and reviews that offer no details that might help approximate fit. For reference, I'm 5' 9" and about 135 lbs. I initi...ally bought these jeans in a size 8....they didn't fit like boyfriend jeans....they fit more like grandfather jeans. At least 2-3 sizes too big....although offered a very good laugh when tried on. So I went for a size 4....still too big across hips and butt. I like loose...but not a vertical fold on my bum. I'm not looking for anything that's earth shattering....just a pair of real cotton denim jeans that fit so well you can fall asleep in them (and NO....not the sweatpant kind!!). I already own lycra-rich jeans that make you feel like you're wearing compression underwear and I think most people agree that most of us would like to go back to 'real denim'. Unfortunately while these jeans met that requirement....the fit leaves a lot on the table. Hope this review help others that are looking...sad they weren't for me.

I love these jeans and bought them in three colors, two sizes and two lengths to find the right combo for me. I am 5'2 and tried both 12 and 14 regular and 12 and 14 petite. 12 regular seems to be the best fit for my body even though I am short. Yes, they seem to run big which is why a 12 fit the best instead of my typical 14. In petite the 12 was slightly snug and 14 was very roomy although it could work if I wanted extra slouchy. I almost bought the wide leg version until I discovered these! The straight is really nice and perhaps more appropriate for a woman in her sixties who likes to be on trend. These are super comfy and I'm glad I own them!
