Luckily, I was in store. These run very oversized. The M is still very oversized on me, but not overwhelming. You can appreciate the style. Go down one size, maybe two. I am very short 5' 2", I sized down and you can appreciate the style intent of the pant. It would have been costume or clown ish otherwise. The fabric is heavenly crisp, yet comfy cotton.

I am 5'7" and 138 lbs. Got these in M to wear as pajamas with the red printed top they show. Love the pockets, super comfortable and fun. Yes, I could've probably gotten the small but I like the loose, slouchy look. I might even wear them when I am traveling just because they are so comfy.

I looooove these pants! I ended up buying both colors and I wear them out and about for lightweight, fun pants (and think it looks cool... but might just look like I'm in my pj's...). Both colors are great, so comfortable, and they're pretty loose. I'm fine in a medium and like the fit, but bet I could get away with a small (5'5" and about 140). Love, no regrets.
